Bala Standard Distance Tri
6 Local athletes missed our local Championship event as they were competing at Bala in North Wales - Bala being a qualifier for the European's in 2016.
Sam Brand, Andy Nash, Paul Cubbon, Simon Lowe, Hannah Howitt and Lynsey Elliott enjoyed the perfect racing conditions, along with 650 other competitors.
Sam was first home from the Manx Team in a time of 1:58:04 - a fabulous 10th in Age Group and 18th overall. Andy Nash wasn't far behind in 1:58:35 - 5th in AG and 19th overall. Hannah & Lynsey both had falls during the race, Hannah slipping in T1 and spraining her thumb and Lynsey taking a nasty tumble off the bike at the dismount line. It didn't slow either of them down too much, with Hannah finishing in a great time of 2:12:37 - 2nd in AG and Lynsey in 2:19:02 - 3rd in AG. Paul Cubbon finished the season well coming in 2:16:56 - 15th in AG. Unfortunately Simon wasn't able to start the run and recorded a DNF after the bike leg.
