Swimming   

There are a number of Swimming Coaches offering coaching sessions on the Island.

Manx Masters Swimming Club.  Wednesday evenings at Western Swimming Pool 8pm to 9.30pm, and Saturday 1pm to 2pm at Ramsey Swimming Pool.  They can offer assistance with stroke improvement and stamina.  Turn up or contact Shirley on 626063 for further information. 

 

CoolWater Swimming

 Run by Silla Parnell and Heather McGowan which is supported and endorsed by Lee Holland, Isle of Man Head Swimming Coach. 

Silla is a Level 2 Swimming Teacher, NOWCA Open Water Swimming Coach and Channel Swimmer, whilst Heather brings practical experience from competing for over 15 years at both a club and at Welsh Development level. Heather is also a Channel Swimmer and swam as part of a team from the UK to the Isle of Man.  As safety is a priority, Silla & Heather are also both qualified RLSS Emergency Response Activity Supervisors, which means that they are qualified to carry out open water rescues.

CoolWater Swimming offers bespoke stroke development and training sessions, which can include video analysis, to individuals or very small groups. These sessions can be tailored to the individual's needs be it one-off video analysis with personalised training plans devised by Lee Holland or regular lessons. There will be a discount for Manx Tri Club members.

CoolWater also offers open water swimming courses, specialising in helping swimmers to make the transition from pool based triathlons to open water although obviously this is seasonal.

Gym & Tonic -  James & Rob Parker's gym in Santon is fitted with an Endless Pool and AlterG treadmill ideal for injury rehab.

Triathlon

3 Frogs Coaching

A qualified British Triathlon coach, Maggie Watkins has competed in triathlon for 15 years and has coached for 7. She brings to her coaching her experience as a medal-winning triathlete and her skills as a project manager. Working with her clients she produces training programmes that get them to the start line in peak physical condition and mentally prepared to achieve their goal.

 

Triathletes, by necessity, attend sessions organised by swimming, cycling or running clubs. As a tri coach, Maggie optimises the benefits of these sessions by managing the overall training load and reducing the risk of illness or injury. In addition to training programmes, her company, ‘3 Frogs Coaching’  offer 1-1 and group coaching. She is always willing to help if she can.
